New! Promotional DVD about AV
Although new changes may happen quickly in the Arab world, causing our new promo to be outdated soon again, we launched our new 7 minutes video on the Arab world and the ministry of Arab Vision. You can watch it here and download it. Please feel free to use it to share our ministry with your friends, family and your church. To cover the cost of the production of this promo, your (small) donation is welcome!
Missiology for Arabs
Arab Vision is the owner of a webzine for missiological thinking in the Arab World, called St Francis Magazine. You may want to go there regularly for the great articles that we publish. This magazine is a project that we share with Interserve.
Six still missing in Yemen
On 12 June, nine foreigners were kidnapped in Yemen. Three of them were murdered shortly afterwards.
There remains no news of the remaining six missing foreigners: a German couple, Johannes (36) and Sabine (36), their three children, Lydia (4), Anna (3) and Simon (1), and a British man, Tony. Tony is married.
The Yemeni press has continued to report positively on the work of these and other expatriate Christians in a hospital in the town of Saada. There has been a strong show of support in Saada itself, with many, including government officials, asking that expatriates continue to work at the hospital. However, all expatriate hospital staff have withdrawn, at least for the time being.
It remains the case that there has been no credible claim of responsibility.
Expatriate Christians in Yemen request our continued prayers that:
a. The missing six (assuming they are still alive) would know the peace and presence of Jesus and be released unharmed soon
b. The families and colleagues of those missing will know the peace of Jesus amidst the intense uncertainty
c. Efforts to discover the missing six will continue and will be successful
d. The families and colleagues of Anita, Rita and Young-Sun (i.e. the three murdered ladies) will continue to know the comfort of Jesus
e. The deaths of the three women who served the local people selflessly may cause many of them to come to accept God's love and forgiveness
f. All expatriate Christians in Yemen will know the Lord's guiding and protecting at this time, and His wisdom concerning future involvement in Saada in particular
g. The perpetrators will be convicted by the Spirit and drawn to the forgiveness, love and true life offered by Jesus.
