Gospel spreads in Tunisia
For over two years now, Arab Vision has been producing Christian TV programs by and for Tunisians. A very highly committed team of national believers, in partnership with other Christian groups, has taken on the responsibility of responding to the calls and questions of the Tunisian viewers and meeting with them face-to-face.
Each month, the team reports of many Tunisian viewers accepting the Gospel. Here are some excerpts from the latest report:
A 53 year-old lady who sought Jesus for 10-years contacted us and was delighted to learn she wasn't the only believer in the country. She shared how she relentlessly looked for a Bible until she found a New Testament. Having read it from Matthew to Revelation she was convinced. She made a big meal and set two places at her table and then literally opened her door and invited Jesus into her life.
A man in the south became a believer through TV and subsequent visits by believers. His family lives in very difficult circumstances and yet his faith is strong. He led two other men to the Lord and they were baptized together. His wife seemed curious but shy. So at a later time, two women from the follow-up team came to visit her. She seemed timid and fearful but had many questions. "Are you from a Muslim background?" "Is Christianity for women too?" They gave her a Bible and she immediately began reading it.
A week later the husband called in. He was excited to share that his wife had accepted Christ! She said, "I began reading and I just understood and accepted Him!" These believers are eager for more visits and desire to grow.
Yassine is busy in his second year of university studies. He originally called in with many questions and was very interested in Christianity. He was an expert in Islamic apologetics, but wanted to know the answers that a Christian would give. For many days, Yassine's thirst for knowledge led him to send the follow-up team text messages filled with complicated questions.
Each time, his questions were answered. Now, Yassine confidently believes in Christianity because he has studied ardently. Recently he asked, "Does once a week prayer suffice? Of course not! Then why do we only fellowship once a week?" Yassine knew that he needed to worship with other believers on a more frequent basis for encouragement, worship, and learning. He has a passion for gathering believers more frequently. Because of his knowledge, Yassine has the potential to lead many to Christ. However, he is currently frozen by fear. He has not told his family of his decision, and he is afraid of being seen when he goes to church. He has expressed a desire to be baptized.
Prayer
Pray for the Christians in Morocco; presently, the authorities are acting harshly against the Church in that country.
