Missiology for Arabs

Arab Vision is the owner of a webzine for missiological thinking in the Arab World, called St Francis Magazine.  You may want to go there regularly for the great articles that we publish.  This magazine is a project that we share with Interserve.

Christian TV Production In Iraq

Iraqi productionTwo Arab Vision TV producers were recently in Iraq for a special conference featuring the presenter of their popular Christian TV program.  Around 250 viewers were in attendance and 12 episodes of the program were recorded during their time together.

“Most of the Iraqis have many tragic stories,” reported one of the producers. “However, they were very happy during the conference days, and the times of worshipping and teaching were more than wonderful.”

The themes discussed at the conference and in the programs include faith, marital relations, intercession and safety in God.  Similar conferences were held in other Arab countries this past year, but this was the first visit to Iraq.

The program is broadcast on satellite TV twice a day and receives over 1000 responses from viewers each month.

“We want to do everything possible to encourage the Christians in Iraq,” explained Arab Vision’s international director. “More than 500,000 have fled their homes recently because of sectarian violence and persecution.  Our TV programs bring God’s Word and comfort to the suffering body of Christ there.”

Prayer

We thank the Lord of the Church that the Egyptian Court has agreed that the Church cannot be forced by Egypt's government to act against its own principles.  Pray that the Churches of the Arab World continue to be able to function with government interference.
